An Enterprising Fellow

When you first move into your town and take step out of what you realize will be your home, Tom Nook, the owner of a nearby store and your home. He will offer for you to work off your debt by working for him. The guide for this can be found here. His store is filled with most of the items that can be found in the game. There's been random encounters of people over-hearing two town characters converse during the month of Auguest that Tom Nook's birthday is August 28.

Insight to Tom

On the last day of the "Bright Nights" festival (starts at the beginning of the second week of February, and lasts all week), Tom Nook goes through a rather depressing period. Talk to him and come back every day during this period to find out more about his life.
